    100 amp arc welder review.

0 5/5 David B. Goode - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: 100 AMP ARC Welder Welding Soldering Machine Rod 110 Volt AC (Misc.) The 100 amp welder is much better than I expected for the money. It does very well with 3/32 " welding rods. It has a steady arc and seems to give more penetration than described.I also like the slightly hefty feel. It makes it seem like a welder that has some quality. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , March 30, 2013

    BX-100B Welder from a Homeowner's View

0 5/5 brownstone47 - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: 100 AMP ARC Welder Welding Soldering Machine Rod 110 Volt AC (Misc.) Received my BX-100B today. Everything worked fine. Took awhile to clean up all of the styrofoam since it is well packed. As an amateur welder, I was able to do some decent welds. I like that fact that you can change the current. I had the best results at 80amps. Only tripped my 20 amp breaker when the rod got stuck to the piece. Can't beat the price. I recommend this unit to anyone that wants an inexpensive welder that works. Also came with a #9 welding lens and hand held mask. The 9 filter is perfect for the amperage of this welder and you can see what your are doing. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 23, 2013

    nice little welder

0 5/5 cody oberbroeckling - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: 100 AMP ARC Welder Welding Soldering Machine Rod 110 Volt AC (Misc.) i dont know were to start, i love it. i have read all of the reviews on the welder and well i own one now. this is perfect for the hobby welder, i have a bigger 220 welder but now where i live i dont have 220 outlite.i just got some 6013 rod in 3/32 and it a good rod for this welder. some of the reviews on this welder people have said that they trip breakers well i havent had any problems but once and i had a couple other things running while i was welding and it tripped, so with that said as long as your not running alot of other things on the same curcuit you'll be fine while welding. like i said this is just a hobby welder not a industrial welder but for biging a small and cheap welder i was shocked on how well it does. you could use it to make some small projects and repairs around the house and shop. so i say you looking at this welder, BUY IT. good little welder 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , March 31, 2013

    Excellent machine!

First off, I did not purchase this welder at amazon. I picked this up at my local Lowe's. Same machine. The welder itself is built very well, and I have not even had it shut off once on me while I have been welding. It is also very small and portable; you can take it just about anywhere you want. The only problem is that you can only produce so much current from a standard household outlet! Because of this, it is critical that the work piece is as clean as possible. When the work piece is clean, the amps are set right, the right welding rod is used, and you have had enough practice unless you have already learned to weld like I had before I bought this, it produces rather pretty welds for such a small machine. It did a really pretty job on my homemade go-kart, and that was 1/4" steel. Down to the point, this welder is just about as good as it gets for one that can plug into a standard outlet.Tips:Get a decent welding hood...the hand shield will work for other people... 5/5 Lil' Johnny - See all my reviews This review is from: Campbell Hausfeld WS0990 115-Volt Stick Welder (Tools & Home Improvement) First off, I did not purchase this welder at amazon. I HAVE NEVER WELD BEFORE

0 5/5 NOTAWELDER - See all my reviews This review is from: Campbell Hausfeld WS0990 115-Volt Stick Welder (Tools & Home Improvement) I had mt atv plow rip apart on me last year. Figured the 100 would be a good try to save 300 for a new blade. I agree with the others, the sticks it came with would not strike 50% of the time. Frustrated I went to Youtube. After a 10 minutes of browsing I tried it again with the rods I bought ( 1/16 6013 )Welds were horrible, to start. 30 min later they were better. An hour later they resembled actual welds. Day 2 was better, I was able to take some 1/8 inch steel and weld it onto the back and sturdy it up.OverallI bought new Rods and a better maskPRACTICE!!! Two days and I am confident with throwing a couple pieces together and am sure it will hold.FAR BETTER THAN A NEW PLOW BLADE 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , October 26, 2013

    Welder Amazing

First welding is art and skill, both generally need practice.I have 20 amp breakers, 12gauge wiring and outlets rated for 20 amps. Check it all 4 times. i use a 12 gauge extention cord the coord on the welder is short and the leads aren't any longer. that being said, i spent hours working on high running about 2 lbs of rod, and no heat from the welder cord or extention cord. This and a 12 gauge extention cord makes a really compact welder that can get out and be used, the weight is about 20lbs, easy one handed. it's smaller and lighter than the tool box i lug around the house, so portablilty is excelent i regularly use it in the yard, driveway, garage. my lights and welder are on the same circuit, no issues so more or less the "high" setting is probly using around 15 amps, and the low less then 10. don't be afraid of having other things on the circuit.Get some 6013, and practice that on low, don't touch high. then when you can strike an arc consistantly gets... 5/5 James Stallings "Hacker and tinker" (Virginia) - See all my reviews, February 19, 2013

0 1/5 Rsouza - See all my reviews This review is from: Rand Stick Welder 100 amp/120V/Arc/MMA/110V/110/120 (Tools & Hardware) Very unsatisfied with it.i did not have the chance to use it though because they shipped the original box inside of another box but did not use any proper cushioning, they put a folded box as cushioning in one of the sides of the original box. when i opened the original box the foam was completely destroyed and the machine screws on the base were bent and there was a crack on the base of the machine. i am trying to return it now but i just read that i will have to pay for the return postage costs which means i will pay the price of a new machine because it weights about 15lbs.Its sad that i have to pay for the business mistake...WAY TO GO "SUN COAST DEALS" 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , June 27, 2014

Economical Simple Welding at a great price

For $100? This is not an industrial welder, and not a welder you will be making go-karts or dune buggies with. For $100, it's exactly what the average tinkering home-owner needs to do a few repairs, tack welding of a bike, kids wagon or a bird feeder.Due to the size of the rods this welder uses, the resulting weld is small, not as such with 1/8" rods on commercial or heavier duty welders. You won't be welding 1/4" angle steel roll cage tubing, but you can repair garden tools, and small items that are not stress critical. This is a hobby welder, not a commercial welder.Using the welder out of the box is a 3 minute chore...plug it in, connect your work clamp, load a rod into the stick clamp and strike an arc. Uses rods such as: Cons:-The supplied power cord is... 4/5 Delta Echo (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?)
