    Exceeds my expectations so far

This is an inverter stick welder that's tig capable, dual voltage 110v and 220v, puts out 140 amps, and has a digital amperage display. At work I only weld with Millers so I wasn't expecting much for a welder at this price and figured I could risk the 250 bucks. I live in Hawaii so I was happy it included free shipping and the item arrived fast in about 10 days. I opened the box and included were : welder, plastic case, nice solid electrode holder and ground clamp w/leads and connectors, tig torch with lead and hose, tig torch accessories (4 inch back cap, collets, ceramic cup), handy little wire brush/slag hammer all in one tool, welding mask with handle, and shade 10 filter lens. The welder had a 240v plug on it I had never seen before. It's similar to the outlet for my dryer but a bit smaller. I went to home depot and found the female plug for it and made a pigtail adapter so I could run it on a 110v/15amps. I plug it in and it turned on and I played with the amperage selector. Can't beat it for the price!

Back in the early eighties I walked into a fresh job and saw a bunch of fitters TIG welding pipe. They were walking the cup installing 6 inch schedule 20 316L pipe. I saw a bunch of 120 volt extension cords all over the place and all looked great. I asked the guy I was working with where the welding machines were as I didn't see any. He said they were hanging on the argon bottles. I gave a double take and there sure enough they were there. Little blue shoeboxes. They called them pocket welders. I just had to have one until I found out how much money they were. Ouch! Too much for me! Needless to say a lot of them evaporated, if you know what I mean. I have always wanted one since then and now they are indeed affordable. Oh yea, I have done my share of TIG welding in my day. They all seemed to work good at that. But! The early ones up until not long ago didn't do well with stick. That has all changed. Now, they will run stick. The cheaper ones, like this won't run all rods well. Light, and powerful, love to have it in my shop.

I tried the arc welding first and was pleasantly surprised at how well it would weld. The arc is smooth and steady, and had plenty of power. The welder runs on 120 or 220, and it does not need to be switched, it only needs an adapter to convert to a 220 outlet, and the machine comes with that adapter. When you turn the machine on, it detects how much voltage is present, and adjust the welder to it, and limits the welding power accordingly.I bought the gas bottle ,and went with all argon. This was my first attempt to TIG weld. My TIG welding was pretty bad for the first 5 or 6 tries, but then I got one that looked pretty good, So you do need to develop TIG welding skills, they are different from ARC welding skills, and take more practice than ARC welding. This is a DC welder, so as far as TIG welding goes, it is not suitable to weld Aluminum. If you want to weld Aluminum, you’re going to need a welder that has A/C abilities, and the cost of that welder is going to be... 5/5 Amazon Customer "Gadgeteer" (Jensen Beach, Florida United States) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) No complaints

My first comment is that mine doesn't look like the unit pictured. I don't have the plastic front and rear case covers; but that isn't really a functional complaint. The plasma cutting and arc welding functions seem to work fine for the small jobs I have done in the first two months I've owned it.The digital display for the amperage using the plasma function only displays up to 29 amps, not the advertised 30. However, I am not sure if it is outputting 29 or 30 amps since there is no appreciable difference in 28 and 29-30 amps in the work I have done so far. I have cut 7/16" stock with it in the 28 and 28-29 amperage ranges, so I doubt it really matters. Hopefully the consumables listed for sale elswhere work with this unit since it didn't come with a good supply.I have cut mostly 16ga, 18ga, and 3/16" stock for some light fab projects in the garage. I have no complaints at all with the plasma cutting ability of this unit. The arc welding... 4/5 D. 0 4/5 Tom Patterson - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: 3 in 1 New STAHLWERK CT 312 DC Inverter MMA/TIG/ Welding Machine Welder Plasma Cutter Cutting Machine (Misc.) I've used this compact unit for one week & am delighted with the plasma cutting function. It's fast with virtually no slag. I had no difficulty welding with the stick function either so it's well worth the investment just for those two functions. I have a tig job coming up next week so will try both aluminum and stainless and report back. A friend who does monster sculpture and ships internationally- borrowed it yesterday when his $1800. plasma cutter broke down. He too was impressed. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , November 15, 2013

This review is from: 3 in 1 New STAHLWERK CT 312 DC Inverter MMA/TIG/ Welding Machine Welder Plasma Cutter Cutting Machine (Misc.) Great product! Very happy I purchased this machine. The plasma cutter works great! It will cut though anything with no problems. The stick option is standard and works well. I have yet to try the TIG option. I was a bit nervous about the plug on this machine due to another review saying it wasn't a common one and it doesn't show it in the picture. However, it is a standard 50 amp welder plug configuration. Common at any electrical supply house. One thing it dosn't come with is a quick release barbed air hose attachment. But, you can pick one up at any hardware store. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 3, 2014

    nice little welder,

I bought this welder to GTAW on a 110volt outlet. It does a good job, cant be beat for the money. however there a few minor issues i have had. The gas regulator that was sent with the welder leaked, alot. I called everlast, they sent me a new regulator no questions asked ( good cusomer service). the second regulator leaked, alot less, but it did leak. The gas hose is a cheap vinyl hose, it works but is cheap. So to sum it up, all the gas eqipment will work, but in the long run it will probaly need to be replaced. The switch on the torch is a on/off switch, no amp control. It works, however i called everlast to find out about a torch with amp control and it was a disaster. The guy who answerd the phone must of been new.. Every question he put me on hold for 2 to 3 min to get the answer. He eventually told me that i could get a foot pedal, but could not tell me if it was a on/off switch or variable. The torch works fine so far, but the head is molded out of some hard rubber vinyl... 4/5 JR - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) I find that the Everlast is an exponentially better welder than that which I already had

Firstly, I am a novice welder. My other welders are a 110VAC Marquette AC stick welder and a Harbor Freight flux cored wire welder. I wanted a welder which could DC stick weld and which could allow myself to attempt TIG welding. When this welder first arrived, it would power on but would provide no open circuit voltage. I tried setting all of the possible switch combinations. I contacted Everlast via Amazon and they had their technical support person contact me. He asked what troubleshooting I had done and I told him. He then told me that a return authorization would be forthcoming. During the next two days, I received a return authorization and returned the faulted main unit and plastic case. As soon as I turned the return into UPS, Everlast sent a replacement. I received the replacement and it works perfectly. I can find absolutely no problems with the Everlast customer support. One item of note though is that the first welder arrived in a plastic case which... 5/5 Kelly S. - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Big things in a small and cheap package.

I was looking for welding machine for the garage and came across the Evelrast brand. I was skeptical at first. I weld daily at work and had never come across this brand before.I was checking out the Everlast website and found they had great support system for customers and a very informative community forum. After seeing this a I felt comfortable with making the purchase. The package arrived in great condition and I was eager to set it up. I was very surprised and please at how small the unit actually is. All the parts where included and all I had to add was an Argon bottle and some tungsten. Within minutes I was off and TIG welding. The torch is comfortable and the HF works well. For some stick welding, I picked up some 7018 and ran some stringers on some plate and the machine allowed me to lay down some nice beads. Plenty of heat for 1/8 7018.Overall I am very pleased with machine and even shared my experience with some coworkers who... 5/5 J. This review is from: Hobart 500551 EZ TIG 165i 230-Volt Inverter-Based AC/DC Welder (Tools & Home Improvement) i was looking for easy to use, inexpensive tig welder after taking a class to use for hobby work. So far it is working great, easy to use, no problems encountered. Can't say much about the weld quality, but that is the operator, not the equipment. When i actually do it right, the welds look very nice. i haven't tried aluminum yet, I've just been working on a welding table from mild steel. This review is from: Hobart 500551 EZ TIG 165i 230-Volt Inverter-Based AC/DC Welder (Tools & Home Improvement) Got this machine this week, welding steel is an absolute dream. I also have a Hobart Handler 210 with the spool gun for aluminum but wanted to get away from the spatter and have nice clean welds. Aluminum so far has been a challenge. After a few days of practice and getting a different tungsten for the gun and smaller filler rod it has gotten better. After watching a few videos and reading some online forums I'm learning how to weld aluminum much better and I think this machine will be everything I was hoping it would be. Nice machine, but I wish the leads were detachable. Overall, love it! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , March 23, 2012

The controls make setup a breeze. It's also a very light unit, at least compared to my Hobart Handler 187, which weighs a ton. The actual TIG welding isn't easy, but this is true of any unit. The only downside is that it only comes with a 3/32" collet and collet body. If you're using 1/16", 0.040", or 0.20" electrodes, you'll need to order these separately. But they're inexpensive. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 23, 2013

So I wanted to wait until I had some time with the machine to give a review. I have owned it for about a week and so far it has done everything I asked it to do.I went with the new 2013 model because of the beefed up inside, and the extra bells and whistles. It was well worth the extra $100 bucks to get the digital version of the itig. It's easy to use and within 20min I had it all figured out and saved on different memories. The tig arc is very smooth and can go down to 2 amps! I love the down slope as this really helps with the cratering at the end of the beads. Not to mention that the owner of Everlast has kept one on one contact with me. I have no problem recommending the machine to anyone interested in it. as a matter of fact ones I told m buddy about my purchase he bought the Everlast 160sth, which is a fantastic machine in it of it self!If anyone has any questions about this machine, or the 160sth, or how the customer service has been, feel free to ask... 5/5 Glenn Elliott "Glenn" (Texas) - See all my reviews, May 19, 2013

    smooth welding performer

0 5/5 Lewis (Louie) Davis - See all my reviews This review is from: 2014 Everlast Power ITig 200T DIGITAL DC STICK TIG welder LOW 2AMP start (Tools & Home Improvement) this welder was exactly what i was looking for from a blistering low 2 amp arcs to 200 amps baby and nothing else compares to this welder in performance and price and i love it. I'm a gunsmith and this welder was made for me. it has an easy start and smooth welding performance. it also has a great 200A high end. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 13, 2013

    Wonderful welder, cheap accessories.

I have only used this machine for tig welding. I am new to tig but did get my welding instructor to check it out. He liked it! He is normally a fan of machines painted blue but was surprised and impressed with this one. I chose this over some of the other import machines because it uses standard connectors so that I can upgrade. I chose this over a domestic machine because of the price!Dealing with Everlast in California has been very professional and pleasant. The bad:Cheap accessories! The hose clamps on the argon line don't even work. The work clamp is light duty. The fitting for the argon hose on the torch to the welder is not compatible - the hose is the wrong size or the nut that is meant to go over it is wrong. It does not seem to leak though. The on/off switch on my machine is mounted skew. It has an overall cheap Chinese feel to it.The good:The actual machine is awesome and welds like a champ. All of the settings seem to do... 4/5 Alexander Yasbek (Santa Cruz, CA) - See all my reviews, March 19, 2014
